Bucatini is aptly named after the Italian word Buco, meaning “hole.” It is a thick spaghetti-like pasta with a hole running through the center. Bronze-die extruded and hand made by Maurizio of Allemandi (a trained chef and pastaio from Piemonte), this handcrafted bucatini has a rough and porous texture much like homemade pasta. This bucatini is made with organic Umbrian wheat and certified Aqua di Piemonte mountain water. Umbrian wheat is a high-quality durum semolina with a high protein content, giving the pasta an impeccable texture.
